How the pricing engine works
HawkQMS calculates a quote from four inputs: (1) cycle time, parsed from G-code or estimated from geometry; (2) material cost, from the shop's configured catalog; (3) per-machine hourly rate; and (4) the shop's markup, overhead, setup, minimum-order, and quantity-break rules. The output is an itemized quote the shop can send as-is or override before delivery.

What CAD file formats does HawkQMS support for CNC quoting?
G-code (.nc, .gcode, .tap), STEP (.step, .stp), STL (.stl), and DXF (.dxf).
How fast can a machine shop launch a HawkQMS customer portal?
Most shops go live the same day. Configure your logo, materials, machines, markup rules, and Stripe account, and your customers can start submitting CAD files and paying immediately.
Does HawkQMS handle payments?
Yes, through Stripe and Stripe Connect. Customers check out inside the branded portal and shops receive payouts directly.
Is HawkQMS a white-label platform?
Yes. Every tenant gets a fully branded customer portal; customers never see HawkQMS branding.
How does HawkQMS compare to Paperless Parts?
Paperless Parts is an enterprise quoting platform for larger contract manufacturers. HawkQMS targets small and mid-size shops with simpler onboarding, a white-label customer portal, and a lower price point.
How does HawkQMS compare to Xometry?
Xometry is a marketplace that routes jobs to shops in its network. HawkQMS gives your shop its own branded portal so your customers go directly to you and you keep the margin a marketplace would take.
Does HawkQMS replace my CAM system or ERP?
No. HawkQMS is a quoting and customer-portal layer. It does not generate toolpaths or manage shop-floor scheduling.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. HawkQMS offers a free trial with full platform access.
Where is HawkQMS data hosted?
In the United States. PostgreSQL runs on Neon (AWS us-east) and file storage runs on Cloudflare R2.
